I just wondered who on here has any anxiety disorders ? There has been alot alot about mental health on the tv lately about depression and anxiety. I have had anxiety for ten years and take 150mg of sertraline each day to keep it away. Which works. Anybody else ? |

Mine is well controlled. Had it for around ten years. Well ten years since i went to my gp. Sertraline works for me. Came off it afew years ago for a while but had to go back and get back on it. Health anxiety. To this day i have no idea how it started. Jeez i was in a state. Aches all over. Cough. Throat problems. My mind racing. Over thinking. Dread complete dread. Luckily my gp was great. Still is. Now im ok. Feel good. |

I came off Sertraline for PTSD and sheesh going cold turkey was the worst thing I did. That’s a heavy dose OP I didn’t get on with it personally it made me very detached and uncaring. |

When i came off i slowly lowered the dose over months. Still had tinitus and brain zaps though. 150mg is quite normal. Yes it does lower my emotions but only slightly. |

Sure I was only on 50 and it gave me the empathy of a tree stump.
Oh the brain zaps I remember them. And the leg zaps.
Glad it’s under control. |

"How do you know it's anxiety and not something else? Like stress or just life making you feel crap?
(I don't mean this in a flippant way.)"
Anxiety is when you constantly think about something. It is constant. Overwhelming. It takes over your life. You feel physical symptons. Tense muscles. Jaw clenching. Throat problems. Jitters. Panic attacks. The list goes on and on. You cannot keep up with your own thoughts. You live in dread. Stress is something else completely. |

Often thought physical illness was a lot easier for people to understand.
Going to docs tomorrow for first time to try and understand whether it is anxiety or worse |

I did for some years after getting spiked with LSD and suffering 3 heart stoppages/restarts. Suffered terribly for about 2+ years, nearly stopped the suffering because I couldn't cope and a gp finally prescribed sertraline, saved my life.
Then my new partner came along and my life got better and better and I stopped sertraline a couple of months ago, seem cured, but who knows. Xxx |

I've personally suffered on and off with anxiety and depression for over 20 years. Only settled on my mix of meds 6 months ago after trying lots that didn't work. So now I'm taking 3 propanolol heart tablets and 5 trazadone a day but they really work for me |
