Is this really as big a no no as my friends make out?
It's recycling day tomorrow and I have rather a lot. Too much for one bin. The church over the road always has next to nothing in so sometimes I nip over and put my extra in there.
Am I going to hell? |

I believe "Though Shall not use Neighbours bins" is one of the ten commandments, so yes |

As long as it’s the right stuff for the bin then I don’t see it being a problem. My mom and her neighbour do it all the time with garden waste. I have two bins and mine despite doing lots of recycling are always full on bin day so no room for anybody else to put stuff in x |

Surely all of the domestic bins belong to the council rather than individuals?

My recycle bins belong to the council but I had to buy my own general waste bin.
I don't have a problem with people popping something in my bin on collection morning. It has to be in the right bin.
I was really annoyed when someone filled my bin up completely the day after bin day when I had another 2 weeks before it got emptied! |

All houses here are given the same number of bins for various waste.
I only half fill mine but I would expect a neighbour to ASK if they can use my bin. After all I am liable for what is in it.
It is NOT a public bin even if it belongs to the council.
I'd never say no to a neighbour or anyone but just using it is a huge fuck off NO. |
