Camping in Cornwall

We’re off camping tomorrow- I love being in a tent early morning....and it’s not even meant to rain! Whoop!

We’ve got one last day to pick up necessities. This year we’ve invested in some bad ass self inflating mattresses. Nothing worse then a flaccid bed

For all happy campers out there- what necessities can you not live be without?

I went hiking with my son in May up North. We took a lot of kit on foot. A 3 man tent and some cooking kit. Also self inflating mattresses which worked well. The decent camp sites have just about all you need, laundry rooms, kitchens ,showers, shop with all your favourites etc. It's rarely much of a struggle unlike former times. With a car load of kit it's easy.

Cornwall

Think the ground may be a bit damp after today's weather - but I've camped in worse. To be fair, most summers are worse

When I'm camping, other than the essentials, it's space I want but usually find some idiot pitching their tent so the ropes are overlapping. They don't seem to like it when I point out there's the rest of the field they could pitch on

Remember, tent up first, bunk up later.

A beer or a glass of wine as soon as you arrive, it’s a must to be drinking while you pitch up no matter what time of day.

Yes- we prefer the type where you have vast fields to just pitch up rather than designated spots...

Tarka trail

St Meryn 7 bays for seven days. wind breaks and a bucket, as the toilets at night may be quite a distance from your tent. North devon is fab. I had a few days at Eu. ropa. and appledore in the prom car park
