You just can't beat the occasional soak in the bath with some soothing tunes and a triple shot of your own choosing.

totally agree but you forgot the Flagon of Coffee, the great book and the door locked - for the three or four hours it's going to take to read it

My body can’t handle the stuffiness of a bath. I either end up passing out, or sitting in the bath for five minutes then having to get out because I’m light headed. Yay

You're not a real queen if you don't like having a bath.

You’re not a real torch if you like baths

How strange, I was just going to make a post about bathing.

My blood pressure started rising steadily over the past 5 years.

Recently I just out of the blue thought 'fuck it' no more watching what I eat or drink etc.

I started eating cakes and sweets especially savouries ordering takeaways again.

In short doing the exact opposite of all that medical advice we hear and have preached at us by medical professions.

I did a few other things that were out of character.

I went through the house and unearthed all the things that were no longer of any use or just never used.

Mainly Toys that my spoilt children had barely or never used and gave them away. Not to charity shops, to passersby.

I became more generous to others both financially and spiritually ie;

I gave street beggars £10.00 notes instead of my loose change.

Made time to listen to people and offer kind words instead of making the shortish curt comment I could leaving them abruptly and then slipping off quickly.

None of the above made any difference to my blood pressure.

The bath point is coming.

After ten years, thats a guess by the way, I believe that its longer. I started bathing again.

It started out as with everything that I do, thought through organised and accomplished with the minimum of inconvenience, after all it was only washing.

But then I started laying back and soaking, twisting the hot tap with my big toe topping up and I realised that for the first time in decades I had started relaxing.

I am hyperactive you see, physically and mentally. I never switch off.

Those that also have this type of euphoric life force will understand exactly what I mean.

Now I've been doing this for two weeks, two days ago I had to hijack a nurse, made a plan executed it and walked out with antibiotics leaving a bewildered nurse in my wake.

During her assessment of me she took my blood pressure, it was 120/80 it hasn't been anywhere near that for over 5 years, not since I had an accident that very nearly killed me, the surgeons still cannot believe that I survived and still have no explanation as to how I did.

I believe that it is the bathing. I had forgotten just how deeply relaxing a hot bath can be, that calm feeling that's at the point of exhaustion, sat on the edge of the bed, warmed fluffy towels draped as you gently air dry.

I have already planned and designed my bathroom refurbishment around a luxurious bath!

Get in the bath people, it's good for your soul and may even be healthy.
