Having spent a very uncomfortable night last night being disturbed by layby lurkers, and having discussed the issue on various trucker forums, several ways of dealing with this problem have been suggested to me,all of them involving violence.
I won't say which solution appealed to me most (I'd want it to look like an accident) but I think people should be made aware that a lot of truckers (female and male) really, really do not appreciate being disturbed and flashed at.
I suppose some might but none that have said so. |

There have been numerous posts from guys and TVs who say they would like to get it together with truckers in laybys. I just think they should be aware that there are some drivers who say they would react violently to being approached like this.
Personally,I just ignore people who approach me but it was seriously getting on my nerves the other night. |

What you need to do is hire a marching band and one cameraman(or person). When you are approached get the band to strike up,cameraman runs out and you jump out of the cab. Congratulations you're live on channel 5.
This should do the trick. |

I'm afraid you're wrong. Numerous threads on here have categorically confirmed that All drivers love to be flashed at. They think it's horny as fuck and it really brightens up their day.
You might lose your horny trucker card of you keep spreading these lies that not all truckers love a flash |

"Why do they leave a trailer door open?
To show potential thieves there’s nothing in there "
Saves having your back doors kicked in.
Although some truckers like that |

Uninvited attention with you all the way on that one.
Pre - arranged or something that happens fortuitously is only the concern of those consenting adults involved.

Doesn't that make it more dangerous to park up with closed doors ? Like here I am with a full load with my doors closed ? |

It does. But better that someone has a go at stealing something,.than have your doors damaged or your sides hacked open when there is nothing worth stealing. |

Hope to bag my 30th trucker over this weekend. Love the cabs with the automatic blinds too. No need for lights flashing or knocking on cab doors just invites come through fab or through a rolled down window as I stroll past their cabs.

No doubt as a "man" from Barnsley you have d*unk in the Silkstone. So have I and have met some rather shall I say basic gentlemen as well as those with a little more brain power. I love animals but dislike many of those that use them as threats to others. Let's hope our paths never cross for your sake rather than mine. |

"Same here I dress to please but always walk around decent. I wait to be invited into trucks. Only time I tap at a truckers door is when invited to do so through using fab! It's only polite x"
I'm curious. I'm assuming you dress en femme. Are you not concerned that a trucker may believe you're a biological female and react violently when he discovers you're not? |

There are some right wankers among the transport industry who think their shit don't smell, I've worked amongst them for around 30 years and whereas I used to socialise with them I wouldn't dream of it now, I know the OP is now UNLOS but if he was still here I'd tell him he is definitely in the minority amongst his fellow drivers, I've recently left a Facebook group of my own accord due to the bullshit they were spouting over a 5 truck pileup on the m25 which was clearly the truckers fault.
Rant over |
