Creepy crawlies are generally pretty unappealing, not for them the adulation received by the Robin Redbreast or the Peacock butterfly.
What better way to compensate for this short coming then than by having a really cool name.
The Devil's Coach Horse is my all time favourite, a bad-ass name for a bad-ass beetle (useful predators in the garden too).
Or how about the Praying Mantis - she'd like you to think she's pious but in reality she's a cold hearted killer that just wants to rip your head off (sounds like my ex).
