Following on from the what car did you pass your test in. Did anything happen during a test where you thought, 'hell, thats it'
During mine a toddler ran out in front of my car. I slammed on the brakes and luckily missed the little one. My examiner looked at me and said "well, that's the emergency stop covered".
And yes I passed first time ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

Similar to mine - a driver decided to do a u-turn in the middle of a busy road right in front of me , no indicators or anything. I beat the examiner to the breaks- my emergency stop was covered too lol |

definately,
1. examiner asked me to do hand signals, I didn't
2. asked me to do a 3 point turn, I hit the kerb
3. lady with pram walks out between two cars, I do perfect emergency stop
4. examiner says your driving will improve but you are very aware of whats going on, I think damn here comes the "I'm sorry" bit but on the contrary he says "Congratulations" so I passed thanks to an idiot of a mother with a pram (I still hate kids though!) |

At the first set of traffic lights, I had to pull into the right hand lane to avoid a illegally parked car.
The examiner said I could stay in that lane so I did went straight on then got a bollocking about not obeying the lane designation. I'd be duped, but fortunately I passed. |

He was straight.
I failed
gaydar not working that day? "
Sadly No...
I never failed because he was offended, I was sucking and went to 34mph in a 30 zone..

Turn left at the Singing Ringing Tree |
Came out of test centre and some bloke then came speeding round the corner, so I had to accelerate a bit sharpish to make sure he didn't rear end me.
Driving instructor later said 'when I bang my clipboard on the dashboard you will then perform an emergency stop'. It all went really well, except he had forgotten to put his seat belt on correctly and so banged his head on the windscreen.
So glad the compensation culture wasn't operating at that time. And yes I did pass first time. |

I started arguing with the guy who was instructing me where to go as I thought he was sending me thr wrong way down a one way road, there was a lot of tutting and humming after that, I just thought, well I've screwed this up, but I did pass, although he did give me a little talking to afterwards. ![](/icons/s/redface.gif) |

In my first driving test my nerves went completely to pot.
I reversed around a corner, was going perfect, then something just switched off in my head, car went too wide, and I hit a lamp post on the other side of the road to which I was reversing around.
I failed, funnily enough!!!

Pulled a lovely wheel spin while trying to enter a roundabout during 9am rush hour in the pissing down rain, he even had a sense of humour and said " thought we was going to be there all morning" nice fella really especially when he said I had passed soon after ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |

My sister, failed 3 times for the same reason, though she was fine when out practicing.
Her doctor proscribed some beta blockers, she passed the fourth time. |

My friend Jill failed her test 13 times.
The last time, she ran one of them mini road sweeper things off the road.
After that, she decreed that she was 'born to be chauffered' ![](/icons/s/mrgreen.gif) |
