Rather ask you lot than Google !!
Jump to: Newest in thread
If I Google this issue I will no doubt expect to drop dead in the next hours so I wanted to ask real people. So here goes ....
Recently I've been feeling a tad nauseous during the day , and more so when I look down at this phone and typing stuff . I've recently quit smoking and put on a smidge of weight. Does anyone have any clues as to why this is suddenly happening ?? Cheers x |

This might be a radical concept but have you thought about seeing a real doctor
Rather than just ask a bunch of random on the internet
I know this might be a strange concept to get your head around

Obviously I'm not a doctor, but it could be something with the balance centres in your inner ear, if you can get to see the GP they might refer you to ENT to look into it. |

"Start smoking again I don't want to though. I'm proud I've quit for 4 months , but I've felt like crap ever since . Go figure "
I’d imagine you’ll feel better once your body gets used to it pal, keep up the giving up and don’t sweat the nausea.
I don’t think people die of nausea so it’s better than smoking |

Smoking can effect your vision, something to do with the hardening of the cornea? I'm sure I've heard that somewhere but, I could have made it up I suppose (off to Google next I think). If this is the case, maybe now your not smoking, your eyes are changing!
Or it could just be your age effecting your eyes. Either way, I'd go and get your eyes tested, easy thing to eliminate from list of possibilities. Try a local independent optician rather than the bigger ones. |

I think a lot of people put on a bit of weight when they stop smoking, I wouldn't worry about that or link it to the other symptom. That could be a multitude of things.
If it's been going on for more than a week it is best to speak to your doctor. He/She will probably just give you some phone advice. That's what they do at my surgery most of the time. |

I stopped 1st Jan and went onto vaping only when cravings are winning.
Down to around 10 drags a day.
It's known and proven this is an issue and suspect it's and effect on metabolism plus needing something else to occupy the fingers - so snacking more.
My only issue now is struggling to find ladies into the more cuddly guy!!!

Try and eCig or Nicotine spray around the time you get the feelings.
I would not have stopped without spray for 3 months combined with the eCig but now off the spray and eCig at the end of the year.
I was nauseous and irritable for a while. Are you on NHS course of going it alone?
Speak to your local Quid Sqad about it. It is an addiction your getting over so may be this. |

It's most likely the smoking cessation, vaping can also cause nausea in some people, loosening of the fluids in your ent and lungs can cause mild vertigo too. This can last months. See your local walk in clinic for smoking cessation support, get your bp checked and keep it up! Well done!

OP if you are vaping it could be that you are taking in too much nicotine.
Nicotine can cause nausea if you have to much so it may help you to reduce the level/strength of the liquid you are using and try to cut down how much you use it. |

"It's cancer.
Whenever you try and self-diagnose using the internet It's always cancer"
This I agree. Google is not the best place to find a proper diagnosis. When I did this when I though something was wrong with me, it freaked me out but I soon realised it was just hemorrhoids which was a relief. |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
"Well somehow I've managed to book an MOT with a nurse ( not a GP) but it's a start "
It's a good start. You'll get the main things checked and results go to your GP. Book to see the optician too.
My Meniere's started with nausea and falling over. We've already ruled out that you're not pregnant so getting the other tests just rules out else it isn't and may tell you what it is.
Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

Get an eye test. It's probably the muscles that control long distance, short distance.
Only read the OP. Sorry if already posted |

I'd definitely start with an eye test then contact the Dr about u née ear problems/vertigo/labrynthistis
I wouldn't expect wright gain or quitting smoking to be an issue although the gaping might be something to look at. Can you refuse the nicotine level in you liquid? |
