So my phone died while I was working away...

Replaced it, but changed to android and lost all contacts and whatsapp.

Arghhhhh.....

If you changed to samsung galaxy you could have used an app called smart switch which just transfers everything over

No phone dies. Just a failure somewhere, most are very simple fixes. You would be surprised what people, company's in particular, that think items are useless and rubbish.
