I agree. They might have monopolised their genre, but chart wise and accolades I don’t think they did get the success they should have. (I’m not saying they were the best ever).
Also muse, much better than other bands that are more of a house hold name. |

Gary Numan - Still doesn’t get the credit he deserves. Minus ‘the middle years’, but in all honesty everyone was shite after 1985. ‘94 to present, an astonishing turnaround and a major influence to many other artists.
More obscure ? Try Syntax - Meccano Mind. Great album but no one ever hears of it. |

I’d never heard of them until I saw them live a couple of years ago. Agreed that they should have done better.
I’ll nominate my favourite late 80s survivors World Party. Catchy tunes with a social conscience, plus a sort of feud with Robbie Williams. What’s not to like? |

Depeche Mode
Criminally undervalued in UK. Always written off as an 80s band although last year they were outselling Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber tours at one stage. Just finished a 15 month £300m world tour. No airplay apart from absolute 80s and no number 1s ever in 4 decades!! |

Omg I used to love Cud! Their cover of You Sexy Thing always brings a smile to my face when it pops up on my Spotify . Actually I found my Cud T shirt a few weeks ago. Can’t bear to get rid of it |

You can’t get rid of it - I’ve got spare tickets for them in Manchester in October! Saw them last year and they were everything I remembered and wanted them to be... x |
