mis-types and auto corrects leads cock leeds

So I get back to my van at 1pm after parking it up at 11.30 to find the passenger window smashed and my coin box ironically that used to pay for parking that's tucked away in a footwell missing .....ducking cunts think I, and I don't think anyone would say I wasn't justified in thinking that..

So I ring 101 to report the crime ... and 28 minutes later I'm still on hold. How many fducking crimes are being reported

Don't be suprised if you get a crime number and that's all.

Not even a visit from forensics.

Sorry to hear about the crime you have suffered.

"Don't be suprised if you get a crime number and that's all.

Finally got through to the operator who took some details and said a colleague would call me back... call back came..

And the lady asks..

"Is there CCTV in the car park ?" "Nope I've checked with Leeds council"

"Any businesses with CCTV nearby?" "I don't know I've not gone and asked should I?" "Well unless it shows the crime and a clear face picture it's not really useful "..

"Any witnesses?""not that I'm aware of"

"Any blood on the glass?""not that I've seen "..

"Doesn't look like we have a line of enquiry then"

I know they're stretched the police keep saying so..if they'd like to prevent crime come and check with the local businesses maybe someone saw something maybe they do have CCTV..feels like if it's not handed to them on a plate they've "no lines of enquiry.."

When I was on hold stood near my van..a guy who came to get his car from the carparkt said "two other vans were done last week as well!!"

Police station less than 1/2 mile away..

Not at all superseded by that response. I have no enemies and yet near my house I keep getting it damaged. I'm not the only one and yet still no cctv.

I'm sure you heard that joke:

After ringing them up first time you should of rung again and said 'Don't worry, I caught the little basted red handed and I'm about to kick 7 shades of shut into him, then back out of him'....

We are on our way Sir

101 isn’t just to report crimes. It’s for every call that isn’t an emergency and you’d be surprised with the amount of calls they receive. There are only so many call handlers to answer the calls and they are literally none stop for the whole duration of their shift. Remember, they don’t just answer the phone, they have to create logs from which patrols are dispatched or otherwise direct that call to the relevant department.

They ask the relevant questions over the phone, witnesses, cctv, any evidence left behind, any other means to identify a suspect, if all those answers are negative then they won’t deploy a patrol because there’s no value in it. The days of police turning up to every job are long gone and you can thanks the cutbacks for that.

Just because a bobby doesn’t turn up to take your crime report doesn’t mean those enquiries regarding cctv etc won’t be done, they will but there’s no urgency to do them that day. The crime will be allocated to a bobby to investigate and those enquiries are done as a matter of course. CCTV is usually stored for 30 days nowadays so it’s not going to be lost after a day or two.
