Yes 100%.... but

There's a BUT here though. Often we give our trust to someone and it's with our own expectations and sometimes the other person isn't aware and agreed to or wanting to have the trust placed in them. When that is the issue then we find our trust is misplaced and often broken.

"Why do you ask?"

Just pondering the topic, people’s self reflection and or blind spots or guilty consciences, and so on. People are often so self focused, that they don’t think about their impact on other people and yet are very quick to glorify their values and integrity. Nothing specific, I was just thinking about it.

Hiding in the shadows

Trustworthy? Yes.

I obviously have secrets, somethings I keep from family & friends.

I know secrets about people I would never ever divulge even when they've abused my loyalty, a secret told will still never be shared.

Sadly I can't say the same about a few people I put my trust in.

If I give someone my word, make a promise I will do my upmost up keep it.. Only an issue with my family, my children mainly would stop me.

Most people will pride themselves in proclaiming loyalty and trustworthiness as foundations of their personalities.

My experiences have shown that under proper duress or dire circumstances all sorts of people with untrustworthy pasts in the popular sense, can be the best around. Don't believe one answer fits all in this...has to be contextualised.
