Ever had a track come on that just makes you stop and think? A piece of music that you associate with a time, place, pastime etc. Good or bad?
Happens to me a fair bit.
Tonight I was driving back from a meal with my family and this came on;
Sequel 2 Sub by Felix Da Housecat.
Suddenly made me think back how into Avant Garde Dance I was. The high quality French stuff, like Alan Braxe, early Daft Punk, Thomas Bangalter etc. Also must have been about 10 years since I last listen to that track and I’m only 30
Still sounded so fresh and it came out in about 2001. Was on Midnight Club II soundtrack as well.
Does anyone else have some memorable music memories to share? Could chat about all different genres all day. |

When I got my first job at 16, I was still really into Gorillaz and on my first shift I was chatting to one of the staff a girl my age, it was the same day I first heard up melancholy hill by Gorillaz and me and the girl ended up becoming really good mates for years, so the song always reminds me of when I first met her |

That’s cool mate. Are you still friends with her now? Gorillaz were so much fun. Crazy music videos.
One that reminds me of a mate is Born Slippy by Underworld.
Reminds me of a mate I don’t see all that often now but we still get on really really well.
I remember passing my driving test and having Born Slippy blasting out of my classic Mini, with him stood out of the passenger window punching the air to the beat, on the way to the cruise.
Happy happy times. |

Yeah, we never stopped being mates but just slowly faded, I moved to the city to start uni as well so not seen her in over a year now. I always loved their music, one of the first bands I got into. I will always have Sweet Child Of Mine by Guns and Roses too, that and Jerk It Out by the Caesers always just remind me of when I was dead young |

They are only a phone call away mate.
Keep people like that contactable.
I came out of a long, long relationship and it’s people like that that really count in life in my opinion. People who you might not see for ages but it just doesn’t matter. You are there for one another. |

Yep.
Jon Secada - Just another Day, reminds me of my first serious boyfriend as it was out around about the time we started dating.
Boyz II Men - End of the Road, reminds of my Clubbing days
Glenn Campbell - Rhinestone Cowboy, reminds me of long Car Journeys with my nan and gramp as they had a Country & Western Multi Cassette thingy they always put on.
Loads more but these are the happier ones |

True Faith by New Order.
It just makes me think positively. Listen to the lyrics. It’s about triumphing over adversity.
It’s also a kick ass Manchester song. Got a bit of everything in it. Guitars, keyboards, drums, electronic snare etc etc.
Works really well. Also my absolute favourite song. |

"Get it all out mate. It’s better to share.
Music is great. Can trigger a whole host of emotions and thoughts.
Turn the negetive into a positive. "
Oh I’ve always used music while at school I discovered I could okay piano and guitars and did gcse in music also gave me somewhere to escape beatings by going sitting in music rooms to play and write.
Thank you music has been in my blood and means everything to me, but since the assault I have struggled but am rediscovering it in recent months |

I bet you were. Just think though. He made his music to inspire people. Also for them to enjoy it. He was a troubled man so remember him for the incredible legacy he has. |

Know what you mean it was tough funny though I didn’t pay their last album any attention but on the anniversary it came up in my Spotify and it was cool and felt like closure to a year.
