Given the tragic implementation of new timetables across the country earlier this year, over crowding late cancelled trains etc...is it justifiable.
According to an article I read rail fares have increased by over 40% since 2008.

More like nearer 100%. When I was going up to Manchester in 2008/2009 an advance ticket return could be got for 24 quid return now the cheapest is 46 return |

Having used the trains over the weekend and for some of the journey a lot of people had to stand. Our return train was late by the time it got to my final destination and no idea why. Plus you had to pay if you wanted to use their WiFi ! I like train travel, but they really need to up their game. |

"The railway network is a joke. Simultaneously being one of the worst and one of the most expensive in the western world. What do fare increases fund? "
Ironically according to the rail company ..the improvements...
I rarely use public transport..the times I have I've found it dirty and quite expensive,
Given the constant noise from government over less car journeys more use of public transport .. given its unreliability and cost why would anyone swap from their car. |
