I have a dilemma...

I have been blessed with a full head of hair, but have always kept it cut. Mostly out of my job, and also previous partner preferred short hair. But now I am thinking on letting it grow, but don't want to damage my chances with the ladies. So my question is this, long(ish) hair on older men, is this a no-no (look at Peter Stringfellow) or not an issue/ possibly an advantage...

Any thoughts....

Peter Stringfellow cudda had his hair anyway, its his bank balance people found attractive x I love bald men, but a nice smile clinches the deal more than anything, friendly face, and a friendly profile x

Not a lover of long hair, but you should wear your hair how you want, irrelevant what others think.

Not a lover of long hair on a man, especially older men. I feel it looks like a last ditch attempt at recapturing youth, sorry just my opinion.

That said you should do what makes you happy

Your hair should be how you want it. I love bald guys and guys with long hair-Really depends on the guy underneath it.

Why ask us luv

Surely you can make up your own mind how comfortable you feel in yourself

Grow it and see how you feel

If you don’t like it for some reason then cut it off

Just like with everything in life you'll have some women who'll love it and some who won't and some who won't care about the length of your hair and more about you as a person! So I agree with the previous posters!! Do what makes you happy

Try it, see what you think.

Personally I love bald/shaved men but I know other ladies that love to run their fingers though a mans hair

The question you need to ask yourself is why you want to grow it, is it to go back to when you were you, and felt comfortable then do so, how long has it been since you had long hair and compare then and now in terms of how it might look now as some men can get away with and some seriously don't. But what is important should not be what women think as it sounds like you have been influenced before by a woman and it didn't make you happy hard to tell as I can't see your face to determine how you would look like good luck with your decision as someone said earlier grow it and then decide x

Grow it, see if you like it.

If it doesn't work for you, cut it.

If it will be a lovely thick mane, go for it but if your hair is thin and straggly and you end up looking like a Castaway, I'd keep it short.

Long hair on a man or a woman needs to be clean, well cut and in great condition to look good. If you can fulfil those criteria go for it.

I find men with a ponytail a little off putting and prefer short hair on guys myself but I'm just one woman among many.

In general I think people should go for what they want. A lot of our life is spent doing what other people want

You have your hair how you like it OP. I've grown mine out long a few times (almost halfway down my back once) purely because that's what I wished. Not for anyone else. It probably wasn't to some folks liking but if they felt strongly enough that it put them off of me then that's a useful filter in itself
