Never heard that before. It's a pork pie nothing else. I've heard a hairy pussy been called a growler though.

I wonder how that originated? Pigs don't growl as far as I know. Perhaps it's the noise you make when you eat a pork pie.

i have close friends from wakefield who have been calling pork pies growlers since 1992 when i first met them .... maybe it's a west riding thing
