If any product is to be tested, and used by another party, it will have to be qc tested. To qc test something in this instance, there has to be a standard test method. All tea makers will use the same method, and ascertain their flavour and subsequent blending alterations from that result. You would be suprised what there are British, EU and International standards for.
Brought to you by someone who has been responsible for implementation and management of Quality Manuals, Procedures and Auditing. Yeah, that's right, I've lived through it....and it's one of the few things that have got easier because of I.T. |

Ive read aswell tea is made at 100° and coffee is made at 96° |

Ahh but being a pedant about these things there is an international standard (ISO) but apparently it has not been ratified into a British standard as there is no BS ISO or BS EN ISO.
I also had a look and there doesn't seem to be any organisations accredited (at least by UKAS) to make tea to ISO 3103 in the UK. So sorry it seems that at best your going to get unaccredited standardly made tea in the UK. |

Not all teas should be brewed with boiling water. Some of the less fermented and/or oxidised teas such as the white teas are best made with slightly cooler water. |

OK BS 6008:1980, ISO 3103-1980 not sure why searching on BSIs website fauled to locate it under 3103 cross referencing normally works better on there. Unfortunately it is outside my companies subscription with BSI and the £52 members price is way too steep as otherwise I would get a copy for someone who is really tea obsessed in my office.
