The right place

I’ve been enjoying this over the last few days.

Some excellent performances. What has stood out to you?

Success in the sprints on the track;

And the swim team doing well, also

I'm so proud of our athletes giving the mighty Russia a run for it's money.

The diving was the highlight for me. Especially the synchro due to the amount of power and skill required.

Newcastle and Gateshead

mine is a general answer.... the fact that all the different sports got together to make it a multi sport event....

hopefully more sports will get involved, that way you could brand it like a "mini-olympics" or a commonwealth games type thing....

especially because you are going to get countries and cities that are not big enough to hold an olympics but could hold this type of event....

for example... london would be ready made for something like this

there is talk of london being involved in the next one in 2022, where there is talk of london hosting the athletic champs at the olympic stadium

they could have hosted the rest... but they may give those up as you have the situation of Birmingham already hosting the commonwealth games in 2022

so having two full sets of big events a few weeks apart may be too much.... if london dont hold the 2022 euro athlethic champs there is talk of them holding the 2023 world athletic champs instead

More medals than anyone else (66) and only 6 Golds (they have 57 medals) behind Russia. No one else near. And what a range of medals, BMX, diving, gymnastics, athletics - and that was just today!

And tomorrow we are right in the mix with the last events so who knows?

Only beef I have is why the team are called 'GB & NI' - so why not 'Team UK'?
