Lidl or Aldi?

Bother shops are very similar since they are owned by an ex husband and wife.

So which do you prefer?

And what's your goto product?

I'm a Lidl bit of a Lidl fan tbh.

Badumtish.

Bristol East

I have an Aldi that is a 30 min walk and a Lidl that is 15 or 45 mins.

Depends how much I want the exercise which one I go to.

I like them both.

I pop into a Sainsbury for any gaps in the shopping.,

Lidl as it's closer and has a better bakery section.

Aldi for the Organic Prosecco.

Waitrose for my main, weekly shopping.

I prefer lidl but always shop around.

I've given my custom to 5 different supermarkets this week .

We had an online delivery from Tesco. I work at sainsburys and picked a few bits up after work yesterday. I also popped into aldi, lidl and asda this week too as I was passing them.

I am lucky to have such a great choice all within walking distance.

I've never been in either in the UK - they aren't close by.

I'm Germany I didn't notice much difference - very cheap but crap for fresh fruit and veg

There's a big Waitrose near me, but it seems like their stuff isn't any better than Aldi, although it has better packaging and is more expensive.

Waitrose has more choice than Aldi and Lidl, for me, and I prefer the meat.

I am thinking of looking for a job in Waitrose for the discount.

Shop at both but for whatever reason Aldi don't do reduced food items like Lidl, get plenty of bargins there.

not sure which I tried, but it was the most depressing shopping experience I've had. Decided to go shop in the main at my local farm shop. Not great selection, no heating or air con, but it all loos delicious, can buy in single lady quantity, and less waste ultimately

Lidl.

And I have bought an infrared thermometer from Midl that I'm yet to use for anything more sophisticated than checking the temperature of my balls vs bell end temperature (slightly lower, just outside error range).

Also bought quite a few pots and pans. Foodwise, pretty good with fruit and veg and staples.

"There is no family connection between Aldi and Lidl"

Exactly, but the Aldi heirs decided to split the business as they didn't see eye to eye: there's Aldi North and south. That started with German laender, but carried on, so Aldi UK is completely different to Aldi Spain (eg)
