"1. Do you have a favourite child? Why?
2. Are you offended when I call my dogs ‘my babies’ ? "
1. I only have the 1 so yes that one
2. Not at all... when I got married we got our puppy 3 months after getting married and she was our first ‘baby’. Broke my heart when she died... and won’t get another one now!

No I don’t have a favourite child ... can’t think anyone who would admit to it to be fair
I’ve friends who have dogs who refer to them as her babies - I’m not going to delete her out of my life because she chooses that term for them. To her , they’re her babies |

2. No its your choice and you love them
3. Would you still call them your babies if you had a child? |

1. No. I have 3 and sometimes like one more than the other but love them all equally and no favourites.
2. No. Not offended. I do sometimes find it odd but that could be because I have never had a dog and my cat is an asshole. |

I have five children and if I could roll them all into one yes that would be my favourite.
Calling dogs babies is like calling children kids. Everyone knows children are not actually baby goats and your dogs are not actually your babies. |

No it doesn't offend me if you call your dogs babies.
Do you have a favourite dog? "
I hate admitting it but I think I do - we got Benji first and he is the cuddliest and most lovely dog in the world. I love them all equally but I have a soft spot for him |

1. 3 kids here. They are all so different but I do have a favourite. Of course I tell them they are all my favourites and my actual favourite doesn't get treated any differently to the other 2.
2. I had 2 cat babies before.kids so no, I'm not offended by that!! |

I have two children - big age gap so naturally the one who's still dependent and at home gets a lot more of my attention and we're very close but I'd hesitate to call them my favourite.
No, ha ha, I don't get offended at people describing their pets as 'babies'. I've got three cats and yes, I seem to have got a favourite because one of them follows me everywhere, *always* sits by me, and on the desk when I'm working, or on my head when I'm trying to sleep. He's a complete sweetheart and a big baby softie. |

I have several children and love them equally but....
Due to personalities and human nature, we naturally get on better with some people over others and whether we like to admit it or not this also applies to our children. It is not favouritism or loving anyone less or more just a simple part of life. I have different interactions with all my children because they are all so different.
I also have my baby Marlie who I absolutely adore hanging out with so op no I don't have favourites just different interactions with my children and have absolutely no problem with you calling your dog by the same name as I do |

I have two. I don’t have a favourite but i have one with Autism and he takes up a lot of my attention.
I have a dog that i refer to as my fur baby so no, not bothered in the slightest, and even if I didn’t have a dog, i’d still not be bothered. |

I also call my dogs babies. They are dependent on me and they do love being babied and cuddled. We’re a very tight pack. Aw I love my little dogs. |

My auntie has twins and you can totally tell which one is her favourite.
I work with kids and when parents come to pick them up, if there’s siblings you can tell which the favourite is as well |

I still struggle! I do too but I'm not the mess I was the first few times. It was very unbecoming! Lol"
We both took the first two weeks off work when we got our first dog and I didn’t want to go back. Felt so guilty and awful, still do. Luckily he works 9-5 and I’m at home during the day so they’re on their own for two hours at most |

"1. Do you have a favourite child? Why?
2. Are you offended when I call my dogs ‘my babies’ ? "
They're all my favourite at some point and all should have been left on the orphanage steps at other times.
A friend of mine sent me a text one night not expecting me to answer. He phoned asking what I was still doing up. I said my then 18 year old hadn't come in yet and I couldn't sleep until she did. He accused me of fussing over her and she'd be alright etc.
I asked him what he was doing up...he was waiting for his cat and worried as there were foxes nearby. His cat was worth waiting for my daughter wasn't.
I understand people who see their pets as their children but struggle with people who put animals first. |

No favourite child. We do spend more time with son than daughter as he realises that we won’t always be here. She is too busy carving out a career to keep her BF in the luxury he has grown to expect.
My Birds are my babies having had them 27 years the two oldest, the youngest is 18 now and had her since baby. They are ingrained in my life.
My kids both left at 18 never to return. |

Only teenagers do so many daft things you can give up worrying in the end, you do worry but just hope they will be ok. To him your daughter is an adult at 18 where as his cat isnt, its more like a child, they dont realise they can get run over for instance. I cant imagine there are many parents who worry about their pets more than their kids though only pets dont usualy live as long as humans. |

As someone said above sometimes you like one of your kids more than the others but you love them equally. I grew up in a family of four children and the two youngest were treated differently to us two older children in that they had more leeway, we're given more emotional support and because our parents had more money had more material things. They weren't loved more though.
I don't think of our cat as my baby and confess that I find it difficult to understand. I am extremely fond of him though. |

We have two children. I love them both incredibly and equally. However, I do perhaps slightly favour one other the other. I would never dream of letting them know that! She is just easier despite being the youngest. An old soul.
I do love them equally though and would die for either of them.

I wouldn’t say favoured I would say I was treat differently. My brother had adhd and ocd so he needed more support; I never saw that as a teenager. Dad always tended to favour me, mum favoured my brother.
It’s funny as now it’s the other way around |
