on the road to nowhere in particular

as far as we know only one person from my year at school has passed away (he was a young 24 years old when he died)

This year I have already heard of two friends that were the year below me that have already passed.

To me it is another sign that our immortality is waning fast.

Live life to the max while we all can

I've always had a strong sense of my own mortality. But a recent spate of deaths among family and friends has left me much more aware that the clock really is ticking for me. It motivates me to make sure I'm living my own life and not someone else's. And to make sure I spend my time only doing things that are deeply important to me like... typing posts on Fab???

Hmm maybe it's time I logged off and did something else with my day? Haha

I have become quite aware of time passing (people too) and it's made me more fatalistic.

In the middle

No one needs to remind me of our mortality, I was living life to the full and enjoying it very much, then in one trrrible moment it was over and life hadn’t been the same since

I'd love to live forever. Though I'd still be seeing forum entries like I'm straight but can't get muff in the year 5100. That and what's the best robot fuck you've had on Mars.

Remember: Life is short, break the rules (they were made to be broken) Forgive quickly, kiss slowly Love truly, laugh uncontrollably And never regret anything that makes you smile. The clouds are lined with silver and the glass is half full (though the answers won't be found at the bottom) Don't sweat the small stuff, You are who you are meant to be, Dance as if no one's watching, Love as if it's all you know, Dream as if you'll live forever, Live as if you'll die today.

I deal with death quite often due to my job. And the stories I can tell Life is fragile and incredibly precious. S9 many people go out and never make it home, be that through sudden medical events or accidents. Life is for living, living a full life is such a subjective term. Just live the life that makes you happy and don't take it or the people around you for granted

While at school, two people in my year died just over a week apart (separate incidents). We all understood our own mortality. I think at least two others from my year have died since leaving school. I'm not in touch with any of my school friends to know about any more.

Even if it was "their own fault", it's still sad to hear someone has died.

Basically, enjoy life while you can. It doesn’t last for ever and nobody knows when it will be taken away from us until it’s too late

My mum who has had several strokes, a broken back, a brain injury and heart failure in the last 8 years is constantly telling me I should go out more, do more things etc etc. She's projecting her regrets on to me. I'm quite happy with how often I go out, the places we go and the things I do. When she rings me and finds I'm actually at home her first words are "why aren't you out somewhere?" Although it's useful now and again to realise what's important in life and not waste time on things you can't change if I was out all the time nobody would do her internet shopping or change her duvet. Balance is what it's about in my opinion.
