Somewhere down south

How to transfer photos and videos from an old phone to a new phone?

I'm not technical minded, but understand some things.

Memory card has been moved over, some photos have moved across, but not all of them and no videos.

Bluetooth will take forever, as I have lots to transfer!

I've used Dropbox before, but wondered if there was any other way of doing it?

Walking down the only road I've ever known!

If you have a Samsung there's an app called smart switch you can download and transfer files direct in minutes and I'm sure there will be apps too for other brands.

Bluetooth but slow process or load them all onto a plug in memory card and put card in new phone, or email but once again slow process

St Helens

I know its a long way to do it. If you have a USB charging cable then you can transfer from phone to PC/Mac. Then you will have a copy on your computer. Then transfer to new phone.

With apple - I normally back iPhone up to removable hard drive on Mac. Then just install backup on new phone

Make sure you have switched NFC on on your phone if you use Smartswitch

Works a treat

If you swipe down on your phone it’s one of the options (NFC = Near Field Communication)

Needs to be on on both mobiles for Smartswitch to work.

I'm sure I tried this before and failed!!

When you plug the cable into the computer, I thought it automatically came up wanting to transfer things, but I had a mare trying to find my photos and gave up!!!!

Is this the same as Bluetooth? Otherwise I'm struggling to see it

Swipe down then there is a cog symbol.

Touch that then Connections and you will see NFC and payment.

It’s what they use for Samsung Pay on contactless.

It's the phone makers own app it may have an icon on the phones homescreen to click on but it will definitely be in apps folder in settings
