Thought it'd be cool to have a thread where we can share what we're all reading at the moment
Personally I just finished reading "The Ego is the Enemy" which was fantastic. Really changed my perspective on some things, especially work related.
Now I think I'll go for fantasy with "Assassin's Apprentice" by Robin Hobb.
I'm curious to see what you're all reading, hoping I'll had some of them to my future reads list. |

There and to the left a bit |
Have just finished "My Dear I Wanted To Tell You" by Louisa Young - a heart wrenching love story (and much more) set against the backdrop of the First World War that was a recommendation on a similar thread and a very good one it was too.
Just started "Lonely Boy" the autobiography of Steve Jones (Sex Pistols) |

One of the best series to read as the changing perspectives gives it a really fast pace and keeps you engaged. Loved them just hope he finishes it. |

"Last book I read was Elinor Olifant is just fine.
Absolutely fantastic book and not the type of book that you might expect from the cover and blurb."
I read the cover and the blurb today. Not mine sadly, my 'coffee partner' was reading it. |

I’m re reading the entire Anne of Green Gables Series. Currently on Anne of Windy Poplars. Spoiler - Gilbert and Anne are to be married . It doesn’t matter how many times I read it, it’s a real heart warmer. |

I loved these books too - so much more detail than the TV series (albeit that's fantastic too). I just hope the final books have as much depth to them and aren't a simple rehash of the TV storylines ... though I'm not sure we'll ever see them published at all |

To be honest I didn't know any of the books you all talked about (except GOT) and I did some search and I'll add some to my to read list. I was especially intrigued by The Miniaturist.
And as for GOT as someone who read all the books and then saw the series, I gotta say you the books are awesome but sometimez they have a tad bit too much details :p |

"My absolute favourite book is Starship Troopers Another couple of good scifis are Forever War and Forever Peace.

Great choices, Heinlein wrote some crackers - I really liked The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress, don't think I read any other Haldemann, but those two are great.
Ever read Cities in Flight by James Blush, The Stars My Destination my Alfred Bester or Flowers for Algernon by ummm... Daniel someone I think? |

"Just finished Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. Came across it on a similar thread here and read it in a day I enjoyed it that much ."
I actually need to read this. I've had that bookshelf for a couple of months now and haven't touched it. As a nerd, I feel ashamed |

And so you should. Can't recommend it highly enough if you're a nerd too... kind of been left with that void now of wondering what to read next and hoping it's as good, might check out some of the suggestions on this thread |

I enjoyed that too. I don't want to give anything away but it is worth getting through the first bit. |

I've just read Mo Yan's Red Sorghum. It was an excellent book, highly recommended. Read The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoyevsky before that and think I'm going on to read Anna Karenina next. |
