Hi guys.

I've been reading way too much non-fiction lately.

Does anyone have any recommendations for decent fiction, please?

It's not essential but I wouldn't mind if it was a little bit racy

Dont usually read books after seeing a film, but Ready Player One by Ernest Cline was fantastic. So much better than the film, read like a Philip K Dick book.

Ah, thanks for that. I've got Ready Player One on DVD, haven't watched it yet. I'll be sure to read the book first then.

I haven't seen the film yet, I'm really interested to see how all the game elements translates to the screen though.

Some notable departures from book narrative, but understandable to make it work onscreen. I'm excited about the rumours of a sequal film to be written by the author. Nicknamed by the nerdsphere ready player two...

There and to the left a bit

I've just finished My Dear I Wanted To Tell You by Louisa Young which was a recommendation on a similar thread a while back and a very good one it was too.

It's similar to Birdsong in that it's a love story set against the backdrop of the trenches in the First World War but is very evocative, moving and well written - the kind of fiction that makes you think as well as telling a good story. Definitely recommended and am very grateful to the person that recommended it to me.
