Gen 1:27 - So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
God is both male and female or neither male nor female. |

She's one of those women that is so good looking that no guy that isn't biologically related has ever been brave enough to ruin his chances of fucking her, by telling her that she's talking shit |

God is both male and female or neither male nor female. "
So does that make God a hermaphrodite? |

What God wants God gets God help us all
What God wants God gets
God wants silver
God wants gold
God wants his secret never to be told
God wants gigolos
God wants giraffes
God wants politics
God wants a good laugh
I'd say a woman |

Nope, God is a human construct designed to give weak humans false hope that there is a reason for their abject misery in the world.

I’d disagree!
God was a very clever concept for very clever men!
The perfect way to keep the poorer masses - and women in particular - controlled and subjugated!
‘If you don’t do this - God will punish you!’
‘It’s not us - it’s what god wants/said - honest!’
Genius! |

As I said above that's religion assuming it knows what God thinks or wants. It's highly unlikely that anybody knows that. |

Precisely!
I don’t question the idea that a greater, benign being created life on earth - I think that’s entirely feasible!
What I question is that many people feel able/compelled to tell everyone else (in pretty much every religion) what this ‘God’ wants/demands that they do - and these people, historically, have been those who have a lot to benefit from this ‘God’ (the hierarchy of each religion, for instance, particularly the obscenely wealthy Catholic Church!) I’ve no problem with the thou shall not steal or kill bit - but homophobia, subjugation of women/the poorer classes I have a major issue with - as do most decent people I’m sure! |

In their defence, they do show their calculations for how they got to those statements (Catholics). You don't have to agree with their analysis, but it's really not objective to say they haven't laid out how they reached their conclusions. For me, there are too many "if" statements in places and no plan B, but i respect their attempt at defining morality and I don't think anyone has done a better job. |

God has no gender as god doesn't exist. There have been many gods through many religions and that goes to prove the nonexistence of a god. Ask yourself the question how can so many different gods be responsible for one small blue green plant that's floating around a galaxy surrounded by many other planets. |

It's pretty naive to present that as a statement of fact. |

You don't need atheism for that. You could just posit a world ruled by a creator who delights in evil and will reward those who commit evil acts.
It's as likely as any other theism. |

You don't need God to give humans false hope. You could write a book about why all their problems are due to a massive conspiracy against them and start a movement promising to make their lives better, you could even call it communism. |

God can be whatever you want God to be. Everything we know about God only comes from a Book or a TV programme. So write God up to how you would like God to be. Gods were only created to comfort or to exploit people in my opinion. |

On the whole life is pretty tragic. We are all going to die, everyone we love is going to die and ultimately all our hopes and dreams will be meaningless. In the face of that it's quite understandable that people construct transcendent ideologies that gives meaning that goes beyond their individual lives. Some of these ideologies posit a theistic God and some don't. My view is that they are all fundamentally based on wishful thinking.
I've often thought, that if there is any sort of theistic God, given the way life operates, the most likely sort is something like the Greek Olympian God's who created human beings for a laugh and, as Shakespeare put it, "they use us for their sport".
Obviously that sort of God has no real appeal to people these days. |

If i was going to invent a God or believe in one due to wishful thinking, then I'd go for one with a more liberal attitude towards sex, personally.
I've never found a problem with being completely irrelevant in the grand scheme of the world. I have my goals in life and the fact that my genetics go into my children is awesome. I don't need any more purpose in life than that. |
