I never start a thread with the hope of an outcome. I usually start at the point of my own musing and then look for other opinions or input on it for a different perspective. Either that or I simply enjoy reading other people’s opinions on a topic.
Whatever my reason it is never to look for a conclusion. |

A thread may deliver food for thought, to the op and others.
It may be facile to think there's one right answer for anyone. Some require someone to take a next step to find out, before you know the conclusion.

Ouch! Death and taxes... perhaps that should just be the ending comment on every thread by way of a conclusion |

Your post reminds me of a cartoon I saw.
The female in bed, looking longingly at a stressed-out male sat at a computer in his boxer shorts in the bedroom.
"I can't come to bed - someone on the internet is wrong!"
Sometimes you learn new facts or correct your own misunderstanding.
But mostly it's just opinion.
Someone has a different opinion from me? That's absolutely fine - the world would be a very dull place if we all thought the same.

re: cartoon
I agree with this. I like to read different opinions. Sometimes I don't understand the opposing opinion to mine so I ask a question to get answers supporting the other opinion. |

Where do you draw the line or there is no right answer? "
Normally I check if you are in the thread, then I take your answer as Gospel |
