I had a lovely evening with a lovely lady off here the other night (hi if you're reading this ) and in the early hours the conversation turned to our guiltiest of secrets... a shared love of utterly crap TV dramas.

For me Diagnosis Murder has to be right at the top for knowingly awful bad acting and everything. Closely followed by those episodes of Murder, She Wrote when she comes to the UK. Fuck me they're awful haha I'm just checking out an episode of Quincy M.E where supposedly punk rock music is killing kids or something. That promises to be a bit of a corker.

Any other crap TV drama fans out there? Midsummer Murders with a stiff starched John Nettles. Poirot. Which are your faves? And if you were to recommend a particularly awful episode which would you pick?

How dare you say that Midsomer Murder is crap tv

My idea of TV heaven is a channel that just shows Midsomer, Morse, Lewis, Endeavour and Jonathan Creek on a continuous loop

For crap ones I agree with those US imports of Diagnosis Murder, Murder she Wrote, Quincy, Dallaglio, Dynasty, Falcon Crest etc... oh go on then throw Dempsey and Makepiece into the mix too

There and to the left a bit

Prisoner Cell Block H has to be the ultimate in crap TV dramas - used to be a highlight of long night shifts back in the day though

Not saying it's crap or anything but I'm pretty sure the Simon Pegg comedy Hot Fuzz was lifted from an actual episode. I swear I watched one where it turned out some "Keep the village beautiful" group was bumping people off haha Or maybe I dreamt it

I think I'm going to have to track down Falcon Crest. Short of learning Spanish so I can watch Mexican soap operas, that's gotta be close to being the shittest, cardboard acting, set wobbling, crocodile tears, big shoulder pads TV available

I blame Acorn Antiques

I know! I've been thinking about this for years. I think someone could make an excellent Columbo film.

He's a wee bit sexier than Peter Faulk though.

Kojak would have kicked Columbo's ass, and don't even get me started on Starsky & Hutch!

What’s up with Columbo? I love it. Peter Falk was brilliant in it.

Loved how the ‘baddie’ would try to make Columbia look stupid and Columbo’s ‘absent mindrdness’ made them think he was under par.

Absolutely loved it. Any Columbo nuts please message me to chat

I'll shag Mark Ruffalo if it helps get the film made.
