Brighton - even Hove!

It’s that time of year again (my birthday) and as I’ve been into a crop circle, I wondered what people thought causes them? Haven’t seen one for years....

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

"Could be aliens.....doesn’t feel very high tech though. "

Are you suggesting low tech aliens do it like students with boards attached to their feet?

The dry weather might have made it more difficult this year.

Happy crop circle birthday.

Wasn't there a comedy sketch on these, a couple of blokes with a plank of wood making a crop circle.

From an archaeological point of view, maybe we should be looking underground? As buried features can cause what’s known as ‘cropmarks’, in the shape of these features.

So perhaps they’re stones circles, where the ancient Brits used them for their mystical ceremonies and some of this mysticism are causing these circles!

IIRC it was a couple of middle-aged blokes called Doug and Dave who, with the boards that other posters have mentioned, made the original circles. A pity, because I really wanted it to be aliens. Or Mulder. It was taken pretty seriously for a while and there was even a journal, called the 'Cerealogist' (back copies available on Mr Bezos' empire). S.

I don’t know why farmers would destroy crops and I don’t know why the shapes had to be so large and so complicated. In some no stalks had been broken. I’ve googled some and they are mathematically complex.

We had one local to us a couple of years back.

Don't know how they happen and can't say I'm overly bothered either.

It’s a ritualistic sacrifice to please the pagan gods of harvest

Those are much easier to do and for me involve cider
