I know there's light and dark in all lives and the other thread is so heartbreaking to read, the pain humans endure just living this life x

so to put a bit of yang to the ying, let's hear your uplifting tales of joy people.

Other proud and joyous moments:

My divorce, although sad it was also a joy

There and to the left a bit

Jumping on the bandwagon: all three of my kids - I may have different relationships with all of them (and just to be bittersweet a non-existent one currently with one of them) but they are still all incredibly precious to me and I would fight tooth and nail to protect all of them

The good thing about being the uncle is you can give them back when they start crying.

So many highlights are the children or grandchildren

even the uncles and aunties appreciate the new lives arriving.

If you don't want or can't have children, the focus will be different ,but joy is always there in friendships, lovers, or a particularly good cheesecake.

There's no rules that joy has to be deep and meaningful, bring on the smiles for a good sunset on a quiet beach

I can’t think of any particular one...life is full of small, quiet, joyous moments. Hearing my other half snore next to me or one of my cats purring as they lie on my chest. The fierce joy when I beat my opponent in a battle. Playing cricket with friends in the sunshine next to a river and collapsing with a couple of beers and some laughs. The busy silence when I’m hiking solo in the hills. Getting so wrapped up in a book at a cafe that I don’t notice my coffee going cold. Sealing a deal in work and seeing real world results, knowing I’m responsible. That sound when you’re lying on a lounger, eyes closed with the sun prickling over your skin and the waves lapping against the shore, kids screaming and laughing and music playing out of the bar’s speakers behind you, and you have nowhere you have to be.

There are times when life is tough but it’s those perfect little moments that make it right again...and you’ll always find them, wherever you are or however bad it seems.
