Well it’s week 8 since my operation to my leg. Today had consultant review were I was excited to be told the brace could come off and I can start walking properly (even if still weight bearing and using crutches) had an X-ray of the leg and waited......
Seen the consultant and boooo the bone hasn’t healed fully yet so I have to keep brace on for 3 weeks then I can discard it and wean off crutches on week 4 and 5 but still off work for 8 weeks more minimum
To say I’m happy am doing well but sad and lil upset it’s going take even longer to heal and get going.
Was supposed to be going physio tomorrow to start intensive physio to build muscle up an get walking by dr said nope stretching only and maybe some bike work....
Soooooo am a little fed up but also happy with recovery sorry to post an moan etc again just nice to share |

It’s hard cos I used be so mobile and fit I’m doing weights and exercises but dr keeps saying slow and steady (think he knows I’d overdo it lol) |

"Good news "
Yeah it’s improving just frustrating that after 8 weeks the bone not healed yet, but when seen X-ray it’s a huge operation and the fracture that is done is quite severe, hopefully be ok just after the news that no change in circumstances for 5 weeks has made me slip an feel low again cos feel am getting nowhere..... |

"You'll get there. One foot in front of the other, as it were. I've been there not that long ago, so I feel your pain. "
Oh Ano my specialist keeps saying slow an steady but I pushed a bit an now my body having a rebellion lol
I just enjoyed the bit of freedom am sick of being inside and am starting to get as depressed as I was before the operation |

I was told 12 weeks to normal after my operation (completely different injury). Week nine, I thought, I'll never get there. Things rapidly accelerated at week ten (although normal was giving up crutches, not normal. It's twelve months for that...) |

Yeah physio told me 12-15 weeks for tibia wedge to heal think consultant is cautious and likes regular checks and updates I just hoped was going to next stage in recovery hahah
Hope your ok now am doing good |
