I feel sick.
I went to quest last night and the lad that dropped me home took me to McDonalds
I have woke up. I can’t find my handbag (it’s not in his car!) and I’ve rung McDonalds who said it’s not there.
My bank cards I can cancel but my bank cards have my name on... in my bag was all my club membership cards and little ‘business cards’ I had made with my fab username on them.
I’m sickened that some indiscreet person will add them all on Facebook I’m a ‘have a go hero’ post and it’ll all be there for the world to see. |

Oh crap that’s awful, so horrible losing your bag 
I know it’s an obvious question but can you recal the last time you saw / used it. Could it be in a car park, can you retrace your journey?
Usually it’s cards / cash / phone that will be of interest, the rest will be dumped so hopefully no come back on that score. |

Don’t worry, that never helps. Is it worth going back to McDonalds rather than calling them?
Cancel your cards, get some cash to tide you over and don’t panic about the rest, if something happens you can deal with it then.

Check all the silly places that you might have put it, like for example wherever you took your shoes off, and the bathroom if you went to the loo straight away..
It could well be in some really strange place in your house and you just haven't found it yet. I have done a very similar thing before.

I have a very small gps tracker hidden in my briefcase, cost about £30 on Ebay. I misplaced the case a few months back, and my tracker led me back to the hotel where my case was still under the bed, 3 days later  |

That's a great point- OP can you track your phone? If you have Location enabled, Google can find it. Or there may be apps you can use to locate it. Good luck. |

If it’s been pinched they won’t be interested in your ID, they just remove anything of value and discard the rest. Somebody else could find the discarded items tho. Hopefully it’ll turn up at the local nick and you’ll be contacted by a very happy bobby to retrieve it. Good luck. |

Now heed the big lesson: your quest handbag and your everyday handbag (the one with your home address etc, i.e. the stuff that could link back to you) should be as far as possible two different things.
Just suppose your bag had been pinched. You cancelled the cards, fine, so they can't profit from those.
However you can't cancel where you live. Wouldn't take a very canny scumbag more than a few minutes to scope out where you live, to check you out and maybe shake you down for some cash or maybe some other ongoing favours.

It is my ‘club bag’ I just take my bank card aswell as the admission money in case of emergencies, there’s nothing else with my address on thankfully.

Great news
I don’t use a bag much as I am apt to put them down and forget . My prep is to have a purse with a lanyard attached to me with a nappy pin tucks into waste band . Another on my phone too . I have lost them from pockets in taxi etc . So it is all pinned on something . |

Never ever have I taken a bag out clubbing with me, ever. Lipstick in my bra bank card in my friends purse and take my car key off the ring and put that in my friends back, they hate it. It's a running joke over the years that I never take a bag. Hate them, can't dance with a bag flopping all over the place! |
