Hi

i've spotted a motor for sale ,its a blinder , you know the story ,low mileage , full genuineservice history ,immaculate , bla bla bla .

i know my cars so thats not the issue , know advice needed on the above .

My question is

its a Mercedes 200SLK Convertible

little 2 door number

Is it to girly for a fella to drive ??

my personal opinion is yes , bit of a hairdressers car as the saying goes.

so men , would you be happy cruising around in one or embarrassed ?

Ladies ..do you think its a bit to girly for a man ??

I used to have an MG TF, never felt like I was driving a girly car. If you're ever in doubt though, just make sure you have some manly tunes blaring out while you drive lol

Real men, confident men, men who don't deny their sexuality whatever it is, men who want to get from A to B and don't need a car to define them or boost their flagging ego and self doubt don't worry about what car they drive.

I should write an advert DurShprungForkTicClick as they say in Grannyland.

"convertibles are an eyesore. and people driving them look like fannies you did ask "

A far too inclusive generality.

Just some examples:

Go and look at an XJS cabrio being driven hard with the roof down or a TVR. You only look like a fanny if you drive/dress like one.

As for the epitome of convertibles check out an E type with the roof down and motoring hard.

Spot on. Given a free choice either a person is buying a particular car because that's the car they really want to drive or they're buying an ego/pose-mobile toy which will ultimately (and sometimes very quickly) stale off and disappoint.

Don't agree on convertibles being an eyesore, we have had a few, TVR's, Lotus, Z4 all looked stunning I thought, only trouble is it's only this year you would get to enjoy them to the full, usually need the roof up lol

Which generation is it OP?

R170 R171 or R172.

Id stay away from the 1st generation as the steel they used back then wasnt that great and car is prone to rust, especialy in the roof area.

R171 Looks like a mini SLR. Go for it fella, especially if its Silver or black with AMG trim.
