So, this is apparently a thing now

According to a lingerie blogger on twitter anyway. But it seems to have made its way into various news websites (BBC, Metro etc)

When will it end

Being able to comfortably sit in airplane seats and having a wide variety of clothes in your size is an example of thin privilege

I’m lean and I get called a ‘skinny fucker’ at work by obese middle age blokes, I’m very privileged.

I see, it still doesn't make me feel priveleged though.

And try buying trousers that fit with a 32 inch leg and 28 inch waist, it's not as easy as you think.

It's a nightmare, no internet shopping for me, when they say a 30-32 inch waist is small. Everything has to be tried on first.

Not if you're a mountaineer, if you get into difficulties then statistically the fat ones survive rather than the thin ones.

Okay I’ve read a bit about what she’s tweeting and this comment makes sense re the terminology “Thin Privilege.”

In a series of tweets, she explains that thin privilege is not needing to fend off harassment and judgement for your size or for what you're eating.

My sisters used to harass me when I was a kid, for being skinny.

My husband used to take the piss out of my little boobs, when they disappeared after my second child.

I am slim cos i dont want to be fat. Could quite easily get fat if i wanted to but i dont. I still have plenty of curves in all the right places and am happy and confident with myself. I dont feel privileged but i do feel content as i have the will power to eat healthy and exercise regularly to maintain a healthy weight and body shape.

Is this really a thing?

Seems like another way to try and make slim people feel bad for being slim.

I’ve seen it from another blogger who is plus size and it just sounded full of hate.

Ridiculous!

When I lost a lot of weight people often commented on what I was eating. "Oh you'll get fat again eating that cake!" "You should eat something or you'll fade away to nothing!"

Now I'm fat again they never comment on how I look or what I eat.

North Bucks

Some excellent YouTube videos exploring and poking fun at this non issue.

Basically some miserable people decide because they are not something then it’s a privilege and then waffle on about it’s important to understand privilege in a whiney voice. Misery projection.

I did have one man friend that told me I was getting fat again. But he meant well and I loved it that he told me.

I think I prefer being 'invisible' when I'm fat.

Haha try reversing the measuremnets for short arses like me. Still got to try everything on. Ive bought levi 501s with 32, 30 and then had to have a couple of inches taken of the leg length!.

I find all clothes sizes o trousers and jeans to generally be bullshit. Depends where you buy them!. Ted Baker shirts is another one!. Sizes range from 4 to 6 but all fit perfectly !!

Same from my humble male point of view, I don't mind putting size on as long as it's muscle not fat. I'm an active person so hopefully I can keep it up for life.

I'm assuming this more stems from larger sized women's clothing costing more than smaller sizes. Although it kind of makes sense because a size 20 uses a lot more material than a size 6
