Got the ladt keepers address. Iz it risky writing to them and offering to pay postage if they have it, or am i letting them know where to steal the car ?

Contact a main dealer with proof of ownership

Worthing

I wouldn’t risk it personally. I’d get a new key cut and programmed instead.

Expensive from the main dealer but what I normally do if a customer needs a key is buy the key fob and blank blade mostly from eBay but shop around. Then get the blade cut. Most keys aren't a problem to cut the blank. Then programme the key with my diagnostics. Obviously you won't have that so best thing is to call at a few garages and ask if they can program a key for you. If you strike out and end up having to use the main dealer you'll still be way under what the stealers would have charged you to do the whole thing.

Ask for it to be sent to your work address

most fundamental aspects

Simple. Get it sent to someone you know who lives a long way from you. Then they forward it on to you.

Or even get it done through a “click and collect” outlet.

Remember the former keeper might be just as wary. How does he/she know you’re the rightful owner?

Surprised the 2nd key is lost already, only 1 key is the sort of thing you expect with something 10 years plus and 4 previous keepers.

You could ask them to box it up and organise a courier yourself.

Have a little faith in humanity and give it a go. If she wanted the car enough to steal it, she wouldn't have sold it would she

Cal

Why would they want it back? Also, didn't you have to give them your address to fill out the v5?

Probably hasn't got one or else they would have let it go with the car.
