After watching what I can only describe as a feckless single mother constantly showing no due care and attention for her brood I decided to call the relevant authorities and I'm actual pleased to say they've been taken into care because they are finally being taken care of.
What would you have done? |

The same. Duty of care. Children dont get to chose who cares for them. And somenare better off out a toxic uncaring enviroment |

The authorities don't just take children from a mother, so you did the right thing if they agreed with you.
Depends how bad I thought things were, but I'd like to thing I would. |

You're clearly very pleased with yourself.
I couldn't comment on what I would have done to be fair as it depends on how long I'd observed such treatment, wether they were in danger, how well I knew them, wether I had been able to try to help in any real way. |

For how long did you watch and what was it that made you decide that you were in a position to judge? |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
If I witnessed neglect, emotional or physical abuse that was immediately dangerous then I would step in. If I witnessed it over a significant period then I would also report it.
I wouldn't intervene if I saw something without the context of the above.

If a child is in danger, yes. But feckless? Elaborate. |

Sorry, fellow Fabsters, I feel a little ashamed of what I've done!
The feckless mother I refer to is the mother of the kittens we saved at work the other week. After monitoring her it was obvious she wasn't looking after the poor mites so we rescued them and took them to a local vet who's nurses looked after them while a carer came available, all five are doing well now.
