The all consuming ‘meh’

Like ‘the nothing’ from The Never Ending Story it just kind of sucks things in...

I’ve been feeling a touch of the Meh recently, life stuff has stirred things up and left me struggling a little with balance and I’m struggling with being chipper and finding the positives.

Rather than kicking off the ubiquitous ‘look at me’ thread or another round of shameless fabbery I thought I’d ask you dear fabbers. So how do you stave off the big bad Meh?

The meh is sitting on my shoulder at the moment, it sounds simplistic but I find being outside in nature, woodland especially, tiring the body helps quiet the mind x

That and chocolate

Yes, there’s a lot to be said for the release of exercise and the zen like effect it has on a busy mind, today is a rest day though, hence the need for other approaches.

I had that feeling for about three weeks... whisked myself for a night away alone in Leeds last week and I feel much better now. I guess that sometimes you need some me time and to completely get away.

It’s not easy... in fact I’d call it a battle really when it does hit... in part you have to go with it.. be kind to yourself and don’t put loads of pressure on yourself... try to do things for you and what you enjoy... see friends... or talk to us lot!!!

Sending huggles xx

There and to the left a bit

Usually try and identify the cause of the meh-ness through massively overthinking it - reach a plateau where I realise that overthinking will just make it worse - face and accept some stark realities and realise life is too short for meh-ness and move on till the next time it strikes

I go to the gym and work out as hard as I'm able.

I cuddle my beautiful dog.

I get all my toys out and give myself pleasure, lots.

I sit on my hot tub and daydream.

Vodka.

I throw heavy stuff around in the gym or drink wine but as I’m really trying to be good, I’d have to pass on the wine.

Oh do a bit of perving on suits! Donna and Harvey

I go for a walk along the coast. There's nothing quite like a sea breeze, lapping waves and a big sky to chase the meh away. Easy for me as I live near the coast I know - but if you're within a reasonable drive to the sea then I'd recommend it.

I do love the sea, the power and size of it is breathtaking, however I live about as far as you can get from it in this little island.

Word vomit my way through some of them with friends. Distract myself with something.

If it's really bad I watch Justice League and appreciate the fine craftmanship and skills required to create such realistic, fully fleshed out characters.

Yes, that’s a good idea. I’ve got some fun things coming up and an old friends wedding at the weekend which I’m really looking forward to (I do love an excuse to wear a suit)

I get like that occasionally, I'm sure we all do. I spend time doing simple things that I enjoy, try to spend time with friends who make you laugh and most of all go easy on yourself. The feeling does pass and hey, you get to say hello to me very soon, the sight of me in my 'rainbow outfit' may well be enough to have you in hysterics

I pick a room in my house and give it a deep clean.

This week it was my bathroom, although I had to stop for a day or two to recover from the chemical overload to my lungs.

I'm tackling my bedroom when the weather cools down a bit.
