"Stand by Me, one of my favourite films and a Stephen King story. His adaptations tend to be either awful or superb, no middle of the road! "
Never realised he wrote that
Another leaning experience on fab! |

I thought both Stand By Me and The Shawshank Redemption were both very good and faithful adaptations from the books. |

I read all the James Bond books in the order the were written. Great books, some similar to the films, some have scenes the same but the story is a bit different, others like Moonraker and The Spy Who Loved Me (to name 2) bare no resemblance. I always go to the Cinema to see the latest Bond, but the books were better in my opinion. |

"Rarely do films capture the essence of the book right - the only one that springs immediately to mind is Silence Of The Lambs "
Can't argue with that. I reckon they got To Kill A Mockingbird right, too. |

Yay a great subject I always ready movie books some are great book, a few are great films that make or enhances the book. My favourites
Bourne series great books - films have slight follow to some areas but independent films.
Jaws - great both book and film
Rambo - great book film has some aspects but love the film more
Star Wars - books and films amazing follow same story books always more bits that make cool
Meg - all the books have been amazing can’t wait for the film
Jurassic Park - books are stunning and so descriptive films I love but because they have aspects of book but keep action and less science
I could go on and on love movies and books |

The books are excellent - Ian Fleming wrote them very quickly so they are fast paced. I have them all and re read them almost every year. There again I can read one in a day. |

Sir, I would recommend them. As BrightonSteve says above, they are pretty short by today’s standards, most around 180-220 pages long so don’t take that long to read ( read some on the flight to Canaries for eg).
Fast paced, and if you read in the correct order then it’s interestjng to see how Bond develops over time, plus you’ll learn about the death of his wife and how he avenges that, which the films don’t explain. |

Spot on Alice, plus 12 Angry Men, the Henry Fonda 1957 original. |

"Lord of the Rings.
For my money, the best adaption of a book ever.
Worse?
The Dark Tower. It was just awful."
Oh dark tower was bad stand alone the film would be ok but after reading book it was bad
Ready player one I love both film and book but for different reasons both amazing
Philip k dick stories are amazing the films adapted are great especially as short stories like minority report is only 30 or so pages long so leaves room to expand for film |

Paranoia is a really good book but the film version got slammed, once I saw the casting for the film I knew it was going to be bad
A lot of Stephen king books are getting the film treatment

Misery by Stephen King is good. I think I prefer the film. And OMG am I looking forward to ‘Mortal Engines’ by Phillip Reeve when the film comes out. The series is excellent and the film looks fantastic. |

"Interview with a vampire and Lord of the rings"
Interview was nothing like the book they missed too much out, Anne rice hated the adaptations of her books she always wanted to do tv series once she got rights back but has never developed
Was a good film and book though |
