Had word that a friend of mine (41) died early this morning
He's suffered for a while now after being diagnosed with a brain tumour (they operated but it was unsuccessful )
He was given 18 months but over the past weeks has deteriated rapidly (he's never been the same person since he was diagnosed)
He was a lovely lad full of fun and he enjoyed life to the full
Another thought provoking reason to live for today
I'll miss you mate Rest in peace

Life has the capacity to be both cruel and compassionate, he had a friend like you Soapy, he had compassion in his life, it didnt take away the cruelty, but it soften its blow. My condolences on the loss of your friend, the world is poorer this day |

If only we knew what life had in store for us. We could hide away in a corner or grab it by the balls and enjoy every minute we have with friends and family.
Sorry to hear your friend lost his battle with a terrible condition but take heart that you had the good fortune to know him.
Thoughts with you and his family xxxx |

Very sorry to hear this Soapy and sorry for your loss and his all-too-soon passing.
Terrible and really makes you think how you are spending the time we are given. |

Having lost my best mate to cancer over the summer I can totally comprehend how you probably feel right now.
I think we are conditioned to process the deaths of parents, grandparents etc (even though I am not taking away any of the pain associated with that).
However when our contemporaries start popping off in early life it does make you sit back and think.
I have changed a hell of a lot emotionally as a result of my mates death. Whilst I've witnessed the loss of too many relatives to count over the years, my mate was the first of my contemporaries.
He was the first person I helped to nurse, he was the first person I had seen deteriorate so quickly, he was the first person I have seen dead, he was the first person who's journey to another place that I have been involved in at every stage.
As devastating as his death was (and still is), I do feel that I am a stronger and more developed person than I was 6 months ago.
If you need anything at all Soapster, feel free to drop me a PM.
I hope there is 1 bright new star in the sky when you look up tonight x |

Thank you for your kind words although I was older than him we kinda grew up together at one stage and I've always known his family
I've often said in posts that I have no vanilla friends and I really don't
But he was different he was just always there if ya know what I mean xx |

So sorry Craig,
ur friend was so young too.
Its very sad with cancer, the younger you are, the better ur body can fight it. But also the more aggressive the cancer.
Thoughts are with you and his family
