Personally, if I'm at a loose end I'll find something constructive to do or contemplate my navel.
I like reading some threads. I'm not that needy to start threads such as what drink should I have, what biscuit I am, or would I fuck the one above to attention seek. I don't comment on them as each to their own. However, if said needy, bored individuals don't like non-sacophants posting on their threads perhaps they can suggest to Admin a "locked room" for friends only.
Just saying. |

I don't start that many threads because, well because I'm not really interested in starting them for the sake of it. I will on the odd occasion when I'm in the mood.
I wouldn't continually start threads just to see my name up there in the lounge and just for the sake of it and I have to admit I'm not a fan of the 'guess what, I've just opened a can of beans' type thread.
But lots of people like a bit of silly banter and admittedly its good for forum bonding, and that's important. Noone is right or wrong on this, we are all interested and attracted to different things |

Well balanced as ever there Iconic
The banter and cheek is what makes the forums for me.
I do have a serious side too though and whilst I don't comment on some of the deeper threads, it doesn't mean that I lack interest in subject or the comments made within.
Like View said above, it would be great to see some more people posting though, even if it is old ground or banal to some of us. |

Why not comment on the deeper threads? |

Whilst I'm not always a serious person, I do like a good old juicy discussion and debate. I've always been interested in discussion and in my younger days was a member of the student debating team where I'd get stuck into controversial issues such as vivisection (and have to sneak out the back way in case the animal rights loving students beat the crap out of me).
We all come on here for different reasons and the fun and banter type threads are a good way to make friends and I think that's great. I enjoy threads where people are sharing their joy (such as mally's baby) or tears, such as job losses, sad events. The support we give each other is really important.
The threads that I'm not keen on are the ones which are not intended for the whole forum to partake in, ones with in jokes etc, but of course behind the scenes relationships are formed, maybe meets are arranged - all good stuff and this site is not all about me (mores the pity) |

I come on here to while away the time. I would guess some would class me as a prolific forum poster. But unless we are close friends non of us are privy to why other people post, whether its serious stuff or banial stuff.
Some have very serious jobs and come on as a stress relief, some are lonely, some have nothing better to do. We are all here for our own reasons.
There are one or two posters that only EVER post nasty replies to peoples threads. Good luck to them if thats what keeps them happy. But i think the majority of people are here for fun. It can and does lead to people forming very good friendships.
We also all have good and bad days. If a regular poster throws their dummy out i take no notice ( i do it) i just put it down to them having a bad day. |
