"they are called cougar/milf nights these days...
Grab a granny is sooo 90's..... "
I know - that's why I remember them
That's when I was in proper cheeky boy mode and why I can't preach too much to the younger lads on here (cos I see so much of myself at that age in them).

"oh and i dont think they call it grab a granny......"
I don't think they ever did !
It was just a name / tag that stuck and you knew certain bars on certain nights
The Ritz in Manchester was good on a Friday and Foo Foo's Palace (drag bar) was always good for slightly pissed ladies 'let out' on hen parties
Sadly Foo Foo herself passed away, the bar is closed and The Ritz is now just a dive (well, it was then I guess, it's just we didn't see it) |

Frank was a lovely man too when out of Foo Foo mode.
Did loads for local charities and was just a true northern warm hearted soul.
A friend of mine had a relat with one of his staff so got to be in his company on a few occasions when he was 'off duty'
He was a bugger on stage tho - when he took the stage, it was always safer to 'blend in' than stand out lol |

20 years back when i was work on construction jobs on humberside there were literally thousands of contractors lodging in cleethorpes and on a thursdays pay night 100's would go to this one club on the seafront for the disco there and the night was known as the bags ball
next day the serving ladies in the canteen would be asking the guys as they served breakfasts"where you at the bags ball last night?". |
