Horrific Moments in Childhood Movies

Remember those moments in your favourite childhood movies that leave you shocked, horrified or teary eyed?

I'll never forget that moment in Short Circuit 2 when Johnny 5 gets beat up and screams in pain while he begs for his life. It tears me up every time seeing this innocent sentient robot being beaten to an inch of his life.

When Littlefoot's mum died in The Land Before Time, I was at an age where I couldn't stop thinking about the concept of death and that scene had me crying my eyes out as I was scared of losing my mum like Littlefoot did.

Milton Keynes

There's actually quite a lot of horrific shit that happens in kids films, usually quite early doors as well. I mean, you don't wanna be a parent or something in a Pixar film, you're getting bumped off in the first 10-15 mins or so.

That whole last 15 minutes from the moment they all join hands as they're heading towards the incinerator all the way through Andy playing with them one last time and then handing them over to the girl I was and still get wet eyed when I see it now even though I know what's going to happen.

Likewise the first 15 minutes of Up!!

When ET turned white.

When Dorothy gets upset because she sees in the Crystal ball her Aunt looking for her in The Wizard of Oz.

Stand by Me when Gordie goes in his (dead) brothers bedroom that remains untouched and has a flashback to the two of them
