"The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room."

I thank the gods daily that our children are no longer teenagers. However they were never lazy. Between them they pulled every other teenage stunt you can think of and some you can't but laziness was never one of them. |

Unfortunately it's a growing trend. As a kid I was always keeping busy and entertaining myself. Today a lot of kids lack the imagination and drive to help themselves.
I'm also sure this is not a new thing it's just more visible now. |

My experience of teenagers in general is that they mostly work really hard, often working evenings and weekends while studying. Of course individually they'll strop about at home and behave like well, teenagers lol but I think they'll mostly make decent adults. |

Went to a regional athletics event recently. Looked like every schoolchild on the field was twitching before every event. Actually they were just all flossing. |

Kids aren't bad. They are kids. Mine are pains at home and angels when out of the house, and I wouldn't want it any other way. One is addicted to Fortnight though. |

At least she didn't think
"Meh, phones upstairs so I can't be bothered to call dad"
She used her initiative. |
