I saw a couple trailing around the womenswear sale section in a shop. He was carrying the chosen items by hanging them from the front of his shirt. Hands free carrying.

I have often seen women struggling with several bags of shopping and thought bringing back yokes like milkmaids used would free their hands to allow them to carry more.
