Well there was a study of monozygotic twins raised apart, they wanted to see if there whether if one was gay, would the other be gay as well. They found different results for men and women. I will say that it's based on a very small sample, but then again monozygotic twins raised apart is a small sample! |

See now this is an odd one .
We know loads of TVs and gay guys , and the gay guys do watch some straight porn . TVs obviously do as many are bi , but completely gay guys do too . There’s still a fair amount of generalising that all gay guys go for, I’ll phrase is as more feminine guys, because for every gay guy that does there’s potentially the partner who isn’t and then there’s quite masculine (again forgive the semantics throwing up a host of what’s feminine/masculine) gay guys who go for each other and then those that are both more feminine. I guess what I’m saying is can’t you see that your question, as posed, supposes that all gays are the same. It’s potentially the same as being confused by a heterosexual couple where the man might be more feminine and/or the female more masculine and yet you’re not globalising your “I don’t get heteros...”. Look you know I love averages so of course I'm not talking about every gay in the village being one way or the other.
But my logic is that in a hetrosexual couple you have the man and a woman who have physical features and behaviours that are masculine and feminine.
So then i intuitively think that a homosexual couple will be masculine-masculine or feminine-feminine. Which of course some are, but such a proportion are not that it confuses me.
So then i think, well maybe they still like the masculine-feminine dynamic (Which answers your point about hetrosexual couples with feminine males), but they just want the masculine-feminine dynamic in two male or two female bodies. Which is fair enough but it also seems to me that they tend to also feminise the male body or make the female body more masculine to correspond to the gender role they appear to play and that really confuses me. |

Yes there's a good phrase that describes the latter point, it goes that "people love in ways that are familiar to them". So if you raise your children well then and they see two bonded parents respecting each other, then they'll try and replicate that in their own relationships because that's what love is (to them). Of course it works both ways and if they grow up in a dysfunctional household with parents having blazing rows then they can actually take some indirect pleasure in rows with their later partners because of the familiarity, and the implicit belief of that's what love is. |

I have to very boyish nieces, who I've only seen in a dress or skirt once each (except when someone else dressed them). Both have pretty, feminine girlfriends and always have pretty, feminine girlfriends.

People are attracted to different things it's as simple as that. And girly lesbians being with butch ones doesn't make them any less lesbian than say 2 fem lesbians.
