Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

The rain smells glorious after such a long period of heat.

It's a pity I'm not in the country to get those grassy green scents.

"Petrichor "

I was just about to post, Spit it out woman!

As soon as I saw it I knew it. I'm getting old and losing vocabulary as so much has to be simplified now.

A glorious word for a glorious occasion.

"And I was taught the word for this the other week! I love the English language "

Do you know where the word comes from?

The word is constructed from Greek p?t?a petra, meaning "stone", and ???? ichor, the fluid that flows in the veins of the gods in Greek mythology.

The weather app says you're just about to get it. And the rain.

lewisham

Just had a fabulous thunder storm in SW France close to the Pyrenees. We stood naked in the rain so we could enjoy the smell of the hot walls and garden. Glorious!

A world all of his own

"Wish we had rain "

Me too

We had about 3-4 minutes of a half dozen spots at a time but they dried almost as quickly as they landed.
