Plan B

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

No not the singer, I’m writing about the ‘second option’.

We’ve all been there; we’ve made plans to meet someone and sadly those plans have fallen through for one reason or another. Your free time is at a premium though so... do you arrange a back up plan just in case? Do you phone a friend? Pop to your local club? If you have ever done that then did you let the other person know?

Have you ever been a plan B and found out about it after the fact and if so, how did you feel about it?

As always this is just one of my general musings and I’m happy to read all sides. Over to you lovely forum folk...

I've never had a plan B, it's a pretty shit thing to do unless the other person is aware they're just a back up. As far as I'm aware I've never been a plan B either.

Then I remembered that I got sex and chips out of it and felt much better.

I'll be anyone's Plan B, just remember the chips.

I’ve been a last minute substitute on occasion. If they are honest about it, we’ve met before, I like them, I know we’ll have a good time and it suits me why would I object? Its usually my commitments that prevent me meeting, not theirs.

Equally I would hope that on the odd occasion some idiot decides to flake on me, a friend wouldnt stand on their dignity if I asked them for some fun at the last minute.

I think to do it without the other persons knowledge is certainly unfair and smacks of disrespect and devaluing that person and the meet.

I have a question about that. If (big if, I warrant) we are all here to have fun times and the sex then aren’t we all someone’s plan b somehow? So if you had to pull out from sexing me tonight for legit reasons and I go sex time my sexy stuff on another person that happens to be free, you’re okay with that? But, if I was sex planning to sexy sex another lovely sexster (like you but not you, because I like you all) and she then has to bail for legit reasons and I see you’re free then I shouldn’t sex suggest you? Or should I say, oh sex kitten was no, sex tiger you in? So you’re aware? Or I shouldn’t have no sex at all?

What you sayin’ Willis?

I think, as with so much in the swinging world, clear communication is key. Giving people options and treating them with respect is the decent thing. It’s when we’re misled that it leads to issues.

I've always got plan b's, as there's so much to do and enjoy. It may or may not be sexual but sometimes it must be. A club visit or meeting a fb works well.

I go with my compass and don't care what others are doing or thinking. Optimize life and wellbeing

I do apologise!

Your original message was very well put.

I think it’s the crux of the issue, as I said previously; communication is key. Lack of play time is a common problem, common decency isn’t a finite resource.

I haven't experienced the being cancelled on thing so I don't really think of other plans - the arrogance of the smug.

I don't know. I wouldn't get too hanged up on it I guess exactly because life is too short/our time is limited..

I was asked by a none forumite I used to talk to to be their plan b...

They actually described it as "plan b" in case their plan a fell through on a Saturday night.

Used to talk to is probably the politest way to describe both how I felt and my response.

I am not an option....

Wherever the party is @

Think it's common sense to have a plan b. Nobody wants to be a plan b,but if plan b isn't doing anything then surely that's to their advantage?,as they may have a meet that otherwise they wouldn't have had. I'm okay far as plan bs are concerned as i have a partner. So when meets fail then we just chilax together.

If i didn't have any plans and could meet last minute.com then i wouldn't care being a plan b. I think we're all a plan b to a certain extent

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Last year I spent ages finding people in Manchester for a meet. I thought I had one so told the others I was chatting to that I wouldn't be meeting them. One said he'd be happy to be my plan b.

The chosen chap blocked me, here and on the phone, a couple of hours before the meet. Plan b came out and we had cocktails and a laugh.

Usually, I arrange meets where I can do something else if it falls through. I'll be disappointed but that's all.

I'm usually their plan b/c and get dropped for the better offer.

Hiding in the shadows

I always have a Plan B, but it wouldn't involve using someone to fill a sudden open slot.

I'd do something for me, an activity I'd not done for a while, visit somewhere I wanted to go.

I always bottle it, hence my draught.

I don't have plan Bs. If someone cancels I go to my sister's for a drink or have an early night.

But then again i wouldn't mind it so much, because if i was plan b then if it was short notice i wouldn't be able to meet anyway so their plan b would fall through as well lol
