Possibly yes IMO, I have long believed this.
If you agree every action begins as a thought (every intentional one anyway) then there's a process, a road to cheating which culminates in acting it out.
I believe it's possible to be unfaithful to varying degrees without going as far as committing the act itself. |

Sounds like her insecurities got the better of her , why is he watching porn is her not getting fulfilled in the relationship? Best to talk to each other & not to do things behind her back or it could escalate into something worse . Just my opinion on this |

"That’s absolutely ridiculous.
Do you watch porn? "
Not by myself that often but I have done. I prefer to watch it with a partner. Us ladies are not so visual when masturbating so don’t have the need as such. |

My tastes would be too vanilla for you. I tend to like the more sensual stuff like erotic massage. |

So by her own rules if she even so much as looks at another bloke even in passing then she is cheating mentally.
Double standards me thinks!! |

Just want to point out that though I'm not much of a porn dude, I do spend time on here fabbing pictures.
And yeah the other side of the coin is its possible that the mrs could be being controlling. |

Maybe he should watch porn with her. Then she will see it’s not mentally cheating |

I hope she's never watched 50 shades of Grey....or fantasized about a man on the TV, in work or in passing. Watching porn is definitely not cheating, for me. I wonder how many other things he's not allowed to do in that relationship. |

Watching porn could be cheating if he isn’t open and honest about it.
I watch lots of porn as does my hubby. I know about it and don’t mind at all. If he was doing it secretly I would be a bit upset but I would just want to know why he was keeping it secret. |

Nah, of course it’s not. I find porn somewhat ridiculous at times, but I like it. However, I can see why others would feel disheartened if they caught their SO watching it secretly.
I’d suggest we watch it together! |

I have a sneaky suspicion that if she'd said she like her ears wrapped in a bat gwano poultice you'd have given those too....

Does that mean that we can send "hi, hopefully you remember us.. my partner and I would like a veri for the amazing orgy we was part of. You was only on screen but we're happy to provide you with a veri as well" im's to porn stars on here if we fucked while their film was playing?
That totally counts as same room fun doesn't it?

Depends on the relationship. If she entered the marriage saying that she felt porn was wrong for whatever reason and he, perhaps just to please her, agreed then she has every right to go off the deep end at him.
If they had never discussed it, then he wasn't to know her views. She is entitled to now ask him to stop and if he doesn't, then split. |

Why on earth isn't he leaving her? I have a mate who had a girlfriend like this, it won't end well. She's a vunerable narcissist, she'll have a catalogue of other issues that he hasn't discovered yet or isn't telling you about. |

porn has never excited me ,bit like going to a restaurant being handed the menu and being told you cant order or eat any food , waste of time if you ask me .or like being given an ice cream and told you cant lick it .
i dont need porn personally ,i have an amazing imagination. |

I'm not sure it can be described as cheating but if a guy (or girl) prefers porn to real life then something isn't right.
As for "getting a grip" it sounds like there's enough of that going on already. |

I think she's insecure, controlling and a stick in the mud.
Unless, he's wanking to porn instead of fucking her.
If the sex is shit, porn is the next best thing, instead of cheating. |

"Watching porn could be cheating if he isn’t open and honest about it.
."
If there is secrecy and lies, or a breaking of trust, anything could be viewed as a form of cheating, a betrayal.
Maybe they agreed not to use it. Maybe they agreed only to watch it together. Maybe he's denying her sex and going off into a secret wank fest without her....who knows.
I find most porn distasteful and I would hope any live-in partner of mine would simply not need it. |

I would imagine not many people on this site have a problem with porn. However for many people its an ethical or moral standpoint.
She has every right to those views. If she expressed those views to her husband and he agreed with them, and also agreed to not use porn, she has every right to be livid.
My money is on her saying she didn't like porn and for her its a redline and him agreeing either for a quiet life, to get his leg over or because he wasn't properly listening. |

There's red lines in every relationship. I hate racism and anyone who knows me more than five minutes would know that. If I found out my partner had secretly gone off and joined the BNP that would be the end of the relationship.
Some women feel very strongly about porn and, for them, their partner using it would be a similar red line. If she made that clear before the relationship got going and he continued to use it secretly whilst staying in the relationship, then he really can't complain if she is livid if she finds out. |

In my experience, very few couples sit down and talk all these issues out at the start. I often ask, "What expectations were set regarding sex at the start of the relationship?" And I've never had a single guy say that there were any. |

I had a friend whose wife was like that. She full on admitted that she didn't like her stretch marks and didn't want her husband lookinh a women without stretch marks. In her defence, she did say that, and I quote "he shouldn't be wanking, he should be fucking me" and i don't think she ever denied him sex. But they are divorced now. |

What if he was against gambling and she wanted to go Bingo? Does he have the right to stop her going?
Or what if he doesn't believe men and women can be just friends, so doesn't want her socialising with any men?
If people know before getting in the relationship, then where is the issue? They've agreed to it.
In my experience, very few couples sit down and talk all these issues out at the start. If you go on the forum search, you'll find literally hundreds of husbands complaining that their sex life with the wife has died. I often ask, "What expectations were set regarding sex at the start of the relationship?" And I've never had a single guy say that there were any.
Maybe not. But if you don't have the conversation, then on both sides you cant moan. Isn't assumption the mother of all fuck ups?
We spoke an awful lot about redlines before we married. W both know whats acceptable and whats not.
So did we! I'm just constantly gobsmacked at how many people don't.
The same! You wouldn't take a job without reading the contract, however people seem to not think with marriage."
Whenever someone says something like "love conqueres all", you can set the countdown timer on the divorce. I'll bet on communication conquering all, over love, any day. |

"There's red lines in every relationship.
What if she didn't make it clear at the start?
Then I suppose he wouldn't be doing it in secret.
Do you shut the door when you shit?
Yes, but I don't hide from my partner the fact that I have shits.
So why does wanking have to be done in secret? (Assuming he didn't agree not to do it)"

Where did secret come from? From the OPs clarification, it seems that he has never promised he wouldn't stroke his chicken to porn. |

We don't know do we? I suspect though you wouldn't have to know a woman very long to know her attitude on such things.
Based on my own experience I would say the implicit agreement in many relationships is that the woman will not enquire about the man's porn use if he keeps it away from her so she can maintain in her own mind the idea that her man is "not like other mem". This means that the man can privately use porn as long as he ensures no evidence ever comes to her attention.
I suspect many people find that arrangement easier than talking about it. The problem arises when she discovers evidence. |

I don't see it as cheating no. We all have our needs and your partner isn't going to want to have every time you are. Nothing wrong with sorting yourself out.
Now obviously it's a different story if they are obsessed with porn or constantly chose to watch porn over having sex with their partner. Then I can see why she would be upset, as someone with a very high sex drive if my partner was constantly watching porn instead of having sex with me I would be a bit annoyed and would feel a bit shit about myself as if they had lost interest.
But you've got to communicate when problems like that come up. If someone is unhappy the other should be asking why.

"My best mate said to me yesterday his mrs almost left him cos she cought him rubbing one away to porn. she said hes mentally cheating on her and almost walked out on him i clipped him round the head and said tell her get a grip
Is she correct or not
Possibly yes IMO, I have long believed this.
If you agree every action begins as a thought (every intentional one anyway) then there's a process, a road to cheating which culminates in acting it out.
I believe it's possible to be unfaithful to varying degrees without going as far as committing the act itself."
Utter nonsense. Watching porn does not make you a cheat or future cheat. Men are visual creatures, porn is something to wank to, nothing more. So I’m bored at home alone, I think ooh I’ll have a wank while watching some porn. So that means I’m on the road to cheating. Get a grip man. |

It's fantasy. So no.
All people fantasize, and that's healthy I believe. It's when you expect others to meet those fantasies which may not be their desire that's the issue? |

"It’s all down to the individual. One of my exes couldn’t bear the thought of me knocking one out to wankhub. She saw me being aroused or interested in anyone else as cheating. Hence I’m single
Was she willing to service your every erection or did she just want you to take a cold shower?
She would freak at the thought of it. Had to have a sneaky danger wank if she wasn’t putting out
I had a friend whose wife was like that. She full on admitted that she didn't like her stretch marks and didn't want her husband lookinh a women without stretch marks. In her defence, she did say that, and I quote "he shouldn't be wanking, he should be fucking me...."

I think it's reasonable to say that a husband shouldn't be passing up sex with his wife in order to look at porn. I don't think it's reasonable for the wife to give him a hard time about jacking off if she isn't DTF |
