Feelings. Emotions. Like parasites feeding on us, like vampires draining us.
Sometimes I’m just filled to bursting with emotion and my chest hurts, and my whole body is tense and then all I do is cry.
Do you ever just wish you didn’t feel? That you could rid yourself of rage, of hurt, of the rollercoaster of highs and lows?
Would it be better to just be the roundabout, rather than the rollercoaster?
I’m fine, I just don’t see the point in feelings. They’re useless, debilitating, and painful. |

I’m back to normal after a shocker of 6 months on the rollercoaster of emotions. Feelings are inconvenient and unwanted for this ice queen. I’m doing all in my power to keep them at bay.
Estella, you wear your heart on your sleeve and to play around with the words of the ever so sexy Scroobius Pip... Don’t let them steal your fucking shirt. |

I used to feel that way. They got in the way, stopped me from doing what I needed to do, and didn't always make sense. Long story short, antidepressants and therapy have changed my mind. Feelings are protective, useful in other ways as well. But only if you know how to manage them and don't have issues stopping you from doing so. I'm not saying that you need medication or therapy, but it might be worth considering. |

‘If you want the rainbow you’ve got to put up with the rain’. Do you know what philosopher said that ? Dolly Parton. And some people say she’s just a big pair of tits ! |

Yes sometimes feeeling can be such a pain in the arse and I wish I didn't have them, but life would be boring.
Generally the highs do outweigh the lows on this rollercoaster ride called life. It just doesn't feel that way sometimes. |

If there's any chance of us glimpsing the meaning of the universe it will be our feelings which illuminate it, not our minds. Give me feelings over numbness any day. |

No. I’ve spent months, and collectively years, of my life not feeling anything at all emotionally. Hearing fantastic news and feeling nothing. Looking at my children’s little faces and feeling nothing.
Feeling nothing is the worst feeling ever x |

I’ve had that thought a few times but without feeling things become boring also what’s up. |

No, not really. When I feel crap a part of me does but then I remind myself I'm alive and I can feel positive feelings as well. And they are wonderful.
I'd rather have both positive and negative than neither. |

It’s a good line. I’ve been on emotional rollercoasters in my time, and even though the lows can be hard, I think ultimately my view would be that it’s better to feel something, even if that something is pain. Without experiencing the painful lows, can we really appreciate the elated highs?
James put it pretty well in one of my favourite of their songs:
Is the power of love
Worth the pain of loss?
Can you pay the bill?
Will you keep the change?
Are you here for the party?
Or are you here for the pain? |

Some of the worse feelings I have are physical. The emotional ones I've learned to deal with, or medication deals with them.
The physical feeling of not being in reality and not being able to remember or do things my brain used to do automatically is frustrating. |

I think being upset, hurt, tearful, offended etc etc are just emotions like laughter, joy ecstasy.
Neither are right or wrong or good and bad, they just are what they are, I think we as a species tend to demonize the first lot as bad and that nobody should experience, like some sort of health and safety risk assessment were trying to negate what we perceive as "bad".
What we should remember is without sorrow there's no joy, without sadness no laughter, without rejection no thrill of acceptance.
Life is a box of chocolates and we shouldn't be afraid of getting the Turkish delight occasionally |

"I sometimes wish I could get rid of the low feelings but then I wouldn’t appreciate the highs x "
I don't get highs. On the odd occasion I get a bit d*unk on euphoria, which makes me shake and my chest hurt. If you see me laughing, it doesn't mean I'm happy. But I'm still thankful I don't feel like I did at my worst. |

When myself and my ex were going through fertility treatment I eventually got to the stage where I just wanted to be right in the middle and feel nothing.
I didn't want the highs of hope or the lows of failure,I needed to feel dead inside for my own survival. For a long time after I felt any disappointment, something as stupid as not having a pair of shoes in my size would send me plummeting. Emotions and feeling can near destroy us at time's. |

When you're feeling down even a molehill can feel like a mountain. When you're up even a mountain can feel like a molehill.
Moral of the story? What seems impossible today will feel like a doddle tomorrow |
