Safe sex...what is it?

Got to thinking about safe sex after reading a few meet requirements and insisting on condoms. Fine, no issue with that.

What happens with oral. Still the same exchange of bodily fluids. Whether the other party swallows or not there is usually precum. Somebody wanted my partner to swallow him and would have happily gone down on her for hours(apparently) yet insisted on wearing a condom.

What am I missing?

People are happy to take different risks.

Some people think safe sex is using condoms but have no idea about the reality.

There is no such thing as safe sex, only safer sex! Many sti's can be passed on through skin to skin contact and don't require an exchange of bodily fluids.

From what I understand the risks of contracting many sti's is significantly lower via oral sex than penetration which is why many people are happy to give/receive oral without condoms and dental dams.

It all comes down to what you feel comfortable with and what risks you personally are willing to take. If it is something that really worries you I would suggest that having multiple partners isn't for you.

I get that but my understanding from a doc in this field is that there has been a huge rise in oral sti's and the resistance to antibiotics is growing as the various nasty little bugs mutate.

Shame because it is a very friendly way of life

I once knew about a lady who wore gloves while operating a computer so she didn't get a virus from it ...
