I've been watching wedding programmes recently (like four weddings, etc) and was just curious to see what people think is an average price for a wedding dress and what constitutes an expensive wedding dress.
I think a cheap dress is under £1000, mid price would be up to £3000 and an expensive one would be £8000 upwards.
what do you think? |

"£8,000 for a frock????????? You can have a perfectly OK weekend break for 8 grand "
Weekend break . . . . my whole wedding cost less than 8 grand including the honeymoon
Ok what I brought back is still costing me cos she is nearly 7 years old
When we got married we decided we just wanted a quiet family only day and cos he had decided to join up we didnt have loads of time to get it sorted out . . . kind of just phoned up the registrar (? spelling is pants I know) and did it.
No fancy dress, cars, reception or flowers just him and I telling everyone we love each other.

your wedding sounds like it was lovely and
Four weddings has really opened my eyes to weddings on a budget of any sort. the weddings i have been to had no budget and im sure cost over £250,000 but i'm starting to realise that you dont need a lot of money to have a lovely wedding or wedding gown.

"Given the number of marriages which fail wouldnt it be an idea to spend a bit of money on a dress you really like, and then keep it for the next one...?!"
How many women are the same size from wedding to wedding? |

my wedding dress was £1298 which i thought was expensive and after it was all ordered we seen it in another smaller family run shop for £300,exactly the same dress so it pays to shop around all the smaller shops and not 2 stick to the big well known ones |

Only if you want to, but it can make you look more dressed up (if you want to that is!) |

"People don't actually buy second hand wedding dresses, do they? Isn't it supposed to be the most important day of a woman's life?"
Big C charity shop in Norwich has a huge wedding dress department - couldn't persuade our daughter to get one from there though |
